Background and conviction
What this site is
This is the working reference for two related concepts. Kegs for a Cause is a charitable craft beer event series hosted at licensed partner breweries, where a share of the night's pours goes to a local cause. LiveSwell is a low-ABV craft beer brand — currently a concept, moving forward with the right partners.
It's written for the people who could help build it: breweries, nonprofits, private-label and contract partners, and investors. Everything here — the feasibility study, the deck, the toolkit — is public so a conversation can start from the same numbers.
The path here
Years inside mission-driven organizations. A home brewer's attention to recipe and process. A serious practice around land stewardship. The two concepts on this site — Kegs for a Cause and LiveSwell Brewing — are what happens when those threads meet a hospitality category that has not figured out either community or sustainability at scale.
Why these projects
Both concepts run on the same conviction: doing good and having a great time are the same thing. Kegs for a Cause proves that at the event level in the near term. LiveSwell carries it into the product itself.
Brewing education
Technical training matters as much as vision. A brewing-science program in Oregon [program TBD] is the kind of credential that turns home-brewing intuition into production-ready discipline — worth keeping in the back pocket as LiveSwell moves from concept to brewhouse.
Operating framework
The impact operator
An impact operator runs a thing — payroll, permits, vendors, the 6am Saturday — while keeping the mission load-bearing. Not a nonprofit director, not a founder who treats impact as marketing. Both at once.
Practically, that means: build it like a business so it survives, measure it like a charity so the impact is real, and document everything so a successor can take it over.
