Comparable Model Profiles.

Four lenses for the next round of diligence: historical references, local comparables, the integrated Rootstock ventures, and site-specific evidence.

California reference models

Historical concept research

Reference only · not corridor partners

The original plan studied food hubs, training farms, community kitchens, and integrated food spaces in California. Those examples helped shape the model, but they are not presented as local partners or evidence for an Oregon launch.

Oregon corridor research

Banks–McMinnville corridor

Required before fundraising

Identify comparable cafés, farm stands, kitchens, food hubs, and education programs in Yamhill and Washington counties. Record what already exists, what remains missing, and where Groundworks would complement rather than duplicate the work.

Rootstock ventures

Banks–McMinnville corridor

Integrated operating partners

Three Field Commons addresses land tenure, Foothold handles property operations, Harvest Provisions supports pre-season cashflow, Rad Roots develops production and aggregation, LiveSwell converts suitable surplus, and Farm Fund Finder supports producer capital and records.

Site-specific comparisons

McMinnville

Required before a lease

Compare real candidate spaces, neighboring food businesses, existing public markets, customer traffic, permits, and occupancy costs. The useful comparable is the one that tests this site and operating plan, not a borrowed market from another state.
